Vertical pumps
Type TNP-KL vertical chemical pumps are
specifically designed to handle acids, caustics or chemically contaminated
fluids with or without solids. Typical applications include the chemical and
metal finishing industries, steel and stainless steel pickling lines,
evaporation and regeneration units, wet flue gas scrubbing downstream of waste
incinerators as well as exhaust air scrubbing and scrubber effluent treatment.
Non-metallic vertical centrifugal pumps
are available for both installation inside the tank – so-called wet-end
arrangement - and mounting to the tank outside wall – so called dry-end
arrangement. In wet end arrangements, the pump is
flanged to the tank top via a sole plate so that the pump casing and part of the
column pipe project into the fluid to be pumped. Wet-end
arrangement offers the advantage that it requires no tank connection below the
liquid level so that pump tank section below the liquid level is free from
openings. A pump sump is not required. This translate
into a straightforward and cost-effective pump-pump tank system. Vertical pumps for wet-end arrangement
are also known as submerged pumps. In dry-end arrangements, the pump is
mounted to the tank outside wall. The liquid pumped is sucked through a pipe
connection installed below the liquid level in the tank wall. Design features 1.) Flexible coupling connecting motor
shaft to pump shaft 2.) Anti-friction bearing integrated
into bearing lantern; shaft bearing capable of accommodating high loads. 3.) Column pipe with 90° elbow and
flange; connection by a suitable piping union allows the column pipe and/or the
discharge flange to be rotated to virtually any position. Option: Column pipe
with flange or design to customer’s specifications. 4.) Steel shaft with solid plastic
protection sleeve. 5.) Vertical setting depth variable in
100 mm increments (standard); intermediate setting depths possible. 6.) Volute casing, casing cover and
suspension pipe made of solid plastics; high wear reserve, maximum operating
reliability when handling corrosives and abrasives. 7.) Solid impeller hub ensures plastics
stability even at high temperatures. 8.) Impeller: closed and semi-open
designs available. 9.) Optimum hydraulic design using the
latest numerical methods ensures good suction behaviour due to low NPSH
requirements, minimum mechanical vibration of components, long service lives of
the antifriction and plain bearings, minimized running noise. 10.) Impeller is positively locked to
the shaft for reverse rotation protection 11.) Standard motor, frame type V1 with
canopy. 12.) Low external height above, slim
construction below the sole plate; TNP-KL can still be installed where
conventional pump configurations face a space problem. 13.) Circular sole plate; special sole
plate geometries and sole plates with additional supporting flange (tank cover)
available on request. 14.1.) Contact-free type 10 labyrinth
seal integrated into the sole plate. 14.2.) Single mechanical seal (option):
The single mechanical seal is used when there is an above-atmospheric pressure
or negative pressure in the pump tank, the fluid pumped tends to vaporize or
poses an environmental hazard. Lubrication of mechanical seal by fluid pumped or
external flushing source. 15.) An intermediate bearing is required
for large vertical setting depths (speed-dependent) to effectively prevent shaft
deflection. 16.) Plain bearing fabricated from
EKasic® C. This advanced silicon carbide not only offers extreme wear resistance
but is also able to cope with virtually all acids and caustics. 17.1.) Lower plain bearing,
product-lubricated.
17.2.) External flushing connection for
plain bearing (option): necessary when the fluid pumped is
loaded with solids or tends to crystallize. 18.) Metallic screw connections
(threaded rods and cap nuts) reliably absorb the maximum internal casing
pressures arising. Corrosion protection of the threaded rods by a plastic
coating; corrosion protection of the nuts by plastic caps with O-rings. The cantilever version of our vertical
non-metallic pumps, e.g. type TPC pump, without bottom bearing has good
dry-running capability. The type TPC chemical vertical pump is a
dry run-proof pump for pumping acids, caustics, chemically contaminated fluids,
corrosive fluids and liquid effluents in the presence or in the absence of
solids directly from pump sumps, pump tanks, storage tanks or basins. The TPC
pumps is available for both wet-end and dry-end arrangement. Dry run-proof type TPC cantilever pumps
are designed for service conditions involving solids-laden acids, caustics,
chemically contaminated liquid effluents or when there is a risk of prolonged
dry running. Typical applications include the metal finishing industry, steel
and stainless steel pickling lines, evaporation and regeneration units, wet flue
gas scrubbing downstream of waste incinerators as well as exhaust air scrubbing
and scrubber effluent treatment. Design features 1.) Flexible coupling connecting motor
shaft to pump shaft 2.) Anti-friction bearing integrated
into the lantern Shaft bearing capable of accommodating high
loads even in the part load range. 3.) Column pipe with 90° elbow and
flange; connection by a suitable piping union allows the column pipe and/or the
discharge flange to be rotated to virtually any position.
Option: Column pipe with flange or
design to customer’s specifications. 4.) Steel shaft with solid plastic
protection sleeve. 5.) Standard vertical setting depths
from 1000 mm to 1800 mm 6.) Volute casing , casing cover and
suspension pipe made of solid plastics; high wear reserve,
maximum operating reliability when handling corrosives and abrasives. 7.) Solid impeller hub ensures plastics
stability even at high temperatures. 8.) Impeller: available with closed impeller; option: semi-open impeller or vortex impeller. 9.) Optimum hydraulic design using the
latest numerical methods ensures - good suction behaviour due to low NPSH
requirements - minor mechanical vibration of the
components - long service life of anti-friction
bearings - low running noise 10.) Impeller is positively locked to
the shaft for reverse rotation protection 11.) Standard motor, frame type V1 with
canopy. 12.) Low external height above, slim
construction underneath the sole plate. 13.) Circular or rectangular sole plate;
special sole plate geometries and sole plates with additional supporting flange
available. 14.) Sealing by double V-ring protects
the bearings from dirt, liquids and vapours.
